My first appointment was great. Office staff are personable, professional and efficient. While I didn't meet with Dr. Westbrook, the P.A. was helpful and listened. She made suggestions based on blood data but not in an accusatory or intimidating way. Very satisfied.
I've been using Westbrook since I was in the 3rd grade. He is the one that discovered that I have asthma. He's never been rude to me and has always listened to me. I have only good things to say about him and have refured him to other people on several occasions. Him and his staff are really good with kids.
Well I think he is a great doctor he tells the truth and most people can't handle the truth so they make bad comments about him. He has told me things that I didn't like either but it's the truth and I faced it. I rather have a honest truth telling doc than one that will lie to you to keep you coming back in for more visits for their pocket.
So the other person rating is completely right. Dr.Westbrook is a smart ass. He will point out that you are obese at every visit. (I'm 6'3" 235 lbs). He will blame all your problems on your weight and compare you to Auschwitz prisoners and how they didn't exercise at all and were not obese. Really? I said well they were starved and he replied "that's my point". After having to call them numerous times/return to their office for no reason to get a referral to a specialist and an MRI, I then had to call back for the results to which I was asked "do yon't me to read the whole thang or just the last part?". I don't know how about you just tell me what's going on with my shoulder? So she rambled off a bunch of big words and then says "sounds like a degenerative condition". I asked what treatment was available and she said she didn't know and that I'd probably just have to come back in and see the dr. Keep in mind I've already seen him 3-4 times over this condition. And if it's an ongoing gradual condition, why did it appear overnight? Overall, the place is outdated with stains and rust on the walls and equipment, bad attitudes and poor follow up. Now if you'll excuse me I have to go find another dr.
Dr. Westbrook does not have a good bedside manner. He can be very rude and does not listen to you. If you are over weight or smoke he will not like you. He only will try and get you to do weight loss surgery instead of exploring other options. His nurses and staff however are very nice and polite.
